Discover what makes DATW so special

If you haven’t already heard, Westminster Woods is celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2026! And to kick off the celebration, we’re inviting you and your loved ones to Day at The Woods — our one-stop shop for everything that makes this place so magical, nostalgic, and transformational.

On April 25th, 2026, we’ll open our doors and welcome you into the most wholesome, joy-filled celebration of our 80 years. Look forward to archery, the Craft Shack, games on the Big Green Field (if you know, you know), face painting, campfire singing, live music, and a delicious lunch from our very own head chef, Gayle Gardner, plus plenty more nostalgic camp activities!

Craving a little adventure? Sign up for our Challenge Course experiences! This year we’re offering tickets for the Big Zip, the Creek Zip, or a bundle deal for both. Details are below!

We cannot wait to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Day at The Woods, and we can’t thank you enough for supporting us on such a meaningful milestone.

All proceeds from this event help sustain Westminster Woods’ mission to provide a sanctuary for spiritual reflection and growth, to foster character and community, and to deepen care for the natural world. Through experiential outdoor education, we encourage stewardship of our environment, support the development of science literacy, and strengthen relationships with one another, with Christ, and with our diverse communities.

About Westminster Woods

Celebrating 80 Years of Connection, Growth, and Wonder

Nestled among 200 acres of towering redwoods in Occidental, California, Westminster Woods Camp & Conference Center has been a place of transformation since 1946. What began as a handful of rustic cabins and a dream to create a sacred space for growth has blossomed into a thriving nonprofit that welcomes over 10,000 guests each year.

For eight decades, The Woods has provided a sanctuary where people of all ages can connect — with nature, with community, and with themselves. From the laughter of summer campers to the curiosity of students exploring our outdoor education program, to the stillness of retreat guests finding peace beneath the redwoods, this place has always been about meaningful encounters that last a lifetime.

Today, Westminster Woods is home to:

  • Outdoor Education Programs that inspire curiosity, confidence, and care for the natural world in thousands of K–12 students each year.

  • Summer Camps that nurture community, faith, and fun in the heart of the forest.

  • Retreats and Conferences that welcome churches, schools, nonprofits, and groups of all kinds to rest, reconnect, and recharge.

  • Challenge Course Adventures that build trust and teamwork through exhilarating, hands-on experiences.

As we celebrate our 80th Anniversary in 2026, we reflect with deep gratitude on all who have walked these trails before us — and we look ahead with excitement for all the stories still to come. Westminster Woods continues to be a place where lives are changed, friendships are forged, and the redwoods keep watch over it all.
