Do you accommodate special diet meals?
We are able to provide a Vegetarian option with advance notice. We are not equipped to provide for special diet needs.
Is there a place to get snacks, coffee or soda on site?
Coffee, tea and fruit are available, 24/7 in Vernon Hall. We do not offer soda, candy or other snacks for purchase. Snacks can be requested for a nominal fee with advance notice or you can bring your own. The closest store is about a 5 minute drive to either Monte Rio or Occidental.
What activities are available on grounds?
Our site offers over 100 acres of hiking trails. We have a large open space, the big green field, for outdoor games such as capture the flag, tag, softball. We have a volleyball court, a basketball court, a cargo net, a playground facility and outdoor pizza oven. We can offer pool or challenge course options with advance notice.
Who else will be on grounds?
Unless you rent the facility exclusively, there are often other groups on grounds. We do our best to accommodate all our groups and allow them the space and privacy they need.
What's the difference between Deluxe Lodging and Cabin accommodations?
Our Deluxe Lodging includes indoor restroom and shower facilities and beds with linens. We have three deluxe lodges are available for 8 to 11 guests per house with a full bath and kitchen. Many groups use the deluxe houses for their leaders or guest speakers. Our standard cabins have bunk beds - you bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, towels, etc. - bathrooms and showers are centrally located.
Is there cell phone reception?
No, cell phones will not reach out here. There are pay phones located by the office and dining hall as well as land lines in a variety of places throughout camp.
Is there internet access?
Wi-Fi is available outside the main office, Vernon Hall, and deluxe housing (bridge, hilltop, retreat).
Do you provide wood for campfires?
Yes, firewood is on site for your use, just ask.
