WHY SHOULD MY CHURCH SEND OUR CAMPERs TO WESTMINSTER WOODS?
The ministry of Westminster Woods is an extension of the local church. Something special happens when a camper is taken out of their normal routine and placed in an intentional space to experience God in a Christ-centered community. We offer a place where campers are free to grow into their own faith and to feel God’s love in their life. A week at The Woods helps young people to develop lasting, meaningful relationships with peers, counselors and mentors. We pray that campers return home inspired to continue growth in God through Jesus Christ.
A typical day at camp involves a mix of activities. Campers spend the morning engaging in quiet time, worship and prayer, and lesson and activity time with their family groups. After lunch, campers participate in all-camp activities, which can include small and large group games. Afternoons include rest-time and free-time which are supervised by their cabin counselors. During free-time, campers can choose between a number of activities including the challenge course, craft shack, games on the big green field, archery, swimming in the pool, hiking with other campers and counselors. The day closes with dinner and evening events like capture the flag, relays, night swims, then campfire and speaker time, cabin talks, and then lights out.
BEcoming a church Partner
Christian development at camp can enrich the ministry within your home church. We invite you to join us as a Church Partner for 2019.
As a Church Partner, you will receive:
Frequent communication from the Ministries Team about upcoming events at Westminster Woods
Status reports regarding camper registrations from your church
Printed materials to help promote summer camp
Option to invite Westminster Woods Staff to come visit your church
An exclusive $35 discount code for each summer camp registration valid through April 1, 2019
To become a Church Partner, please fill out the CHURCH PARTNER FORM. We ask that each church fills this out every year to keep up with changing staff and contacts.
Bringing Volunteers to Camp
We encourage churches to bring adult youth ministry staff and volunteers to experience camp with their campers. We do not charge for adult youth ministry staff and volunteers to attend because we honor those that choose to put ministry and camper’s Christian development as a priority.
Please contact Aimee Studer, Co-Director of Ministries to find out more information.
While you can provide assistance and information to interested parents, churches cannot register campers as a group: parents must register their campers individually. If parents have questions, you can direct them to our Parent Information Page.
Summer Camp Rates
Tiered Rate Program: Recognizing that families have different abilities to pay for camp, Westminster Woods has instituted a voluntary three-tier fee program. It is a 'free will' system; families choose the level that is comfortable and affordable for their family. All campers receive the same amazing experience regardless of the amount paid.
Fall and Winter Youth Weekend Rates
Youth Weekends are $175.00 per camper.

HOW ARE THE RATES FOR CAMP DETERMINED?
The camp’s base costs for food, energy, and maintenance have risen sharply over the past two years. We will be offering tiered pricing for our summer camps in 2019.
Our camp fees include supervision, lodging, three nutritious meals per day, all snacks, special activities, access to camp photos and a camp t-shirt. The cost for a 6-night camp is about $95 per day. We believe this is an appropriate cost for the quality of overnight camping experience that we provide.
We are so thankful to be able to partner with churches to help send campers to camp. We offer Camperships to families who cannot afford our standard prices and we encourage them to seek additional support from their church community.
Please assign someone to be in communication with our Ministries Assistant about your church needs. We ask that all church support be sent in 45 days before the camper's first day of camp. If your church is sending a check for multiple campers please send a page similar to the grid to the right. If you have any other payment questions, please contact our Ministries Assistant.
HELPING FAMILIES DECIDE ON THE RIGHT CAMP WHEN A CAMPER IS IN A GRADE WHERE HE/SHE IS ELIGIBLE FOR TWO PROGRAMS
As a church leader, you will be asked what camp is best for a camper that is in between grades. Please take into consideration the camper's temperament and maturity level. Questions to consider asking the parents of the camper: Will the camper have a better camp experience with a younger group? Then consider sending them to camp with the younger campers. Will the camper grow through experiences with an older group? Then consider sending them to camp with the older campers. What week is your church going to camp? Having campers attend with other students from your church or with a friend might be the best choice. If you have more questions, please contact the Ministries Department.
