Worship Opportunities

in • spire

in • spire is a monthly Taizé inspired prayer service intended to provide contemplative space within a Christ-centered community. Song and silence are foundational to this style of prayer and worship. Short pieces of music are repeatedly and prayerfully sung, enabling the words to fully and deeply resonate in the lives of participants. The musical accompaniment is contemporary and improvisatory. Inspiration for this style of prayer service comes from the Taizé community (an ecumenical monastic order in Taize, France). Services are from 4pm- 5:30pm on the third Sunday each month, September through June in the Homestead.  All are welcome.

When Jesus taught about God he compared God to life sustaining elements such as water and bread. What does this life giving relationship with God look like? How do we interact with God when our lives are so often filled with noise, stress, hurry, and distractions that leave us feeling spiritually malnourished? In our life of faith God chooses to interact with us through silence, solitude, prayer, worship, and the study of scripture; the contemplative life within a community of love and faith. By God's Spirit, our thirst is quenched, and through the risen Christ, our hunger is satisfied.
