Students have an active schedule while here at Westminster Woods. We try to provide a schedule allowing for the maximum amount of time exploring and learning in the field, while providing necessary breaks filled with organized games and activities. Each student will also be given the responsibility of helping set tables at the dining hall before one of the meals during their stay.
Each day from 4 -5 pm we have recreation time. This time provides a break (similar to recess) and allow them to take advantage of the many amenities of our facility including a sand volleyball court, playground, sports equipment, a basketball court, the infamous cargo net, and swimming pool (open 4/11 - 11/1).
Each group that comes to The Woods creates a specialized program and during the day the activities may range from Redwood Ecology hikes, Stream Ecology explorations, Marine Ecology & Tidepooling, Challege Course & Teambuilding, and Restoration Ecology Projects. In the evenings the night program topics may range from a night ecology exploration, campfire, bats, astronomy, a town hall meeting, or skits. |
