A Naturalist teaches in an outdoor setting covering curriculum in topics of natural sciences and related subjects such as biology, ecology, natural history, marine biology, conservation ecology, astronomy, and geology. We are located in the coastal hills of Western Sonoma County, California.

Our Programs: follow an Earth systems approach to connect student's community experiences with the many ecosystems available, such as coastal redwood and mixed forests, tide pools and seashores, riparian zones, and meadow and chaparral areas. Ropes course (Challenge course) facilitation and initiative activities are also incorporated into the EE program to increase the participants experience of individual and group communication, team work, and problem solving skills. Programs generally are directed for students in 4th to 8th grades. Programs lengths vary from 3 to 5 days and evenings, involving groups sizes of 25 to 250 students. The ratio of Naturalists to students is about 12 to 15 students to one Naturalist. The goal of our EE program is for students to appreciate, understand and care for the Earth.
