"I Am" -- Do you remember that old saying by Popeye the Sailorman? It goes something like, "I yam what I yam." Popeye is who he is and that's all he has to say about it. And sometimes it can seem that way for us, too. We are men, we are husbands, we are dads, we are friends, we are ______ (fill in the blank). And as guys who are trying to live a life of faith, who we are will always depend upon whose we are. Who is this Jesus that we are following? What does he say about himself and what will it mean for us as we try to live as his people. Focusing on the "I Am" statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John, we'll explore the richness of the ways that Jesus describes himself. As we explore who he is, we will also see more clearly who we are meant to be.
