Dear Friends and Family,

I will be participating in the Westminster Woods Trek-a-Thon, which will

take place on September 27th, 2008, at Westminster Woods Camp and

Conference Center in Occidental, CA.  I will be hiking 10 challenging miles,

from “The Woods,” up and over the coastal ridge, and down to the Sonoma

County Coast.

Westminster Woods is a place that I hold dear to my heart. I believe that the

benefits of the camp experience are incredibly valuable to all who have the

opportunity to attend.  Young people are provided many resources to

experience a world far removed from their current reality; to come in close

contact with the natural world, to develop lasting and meaningful

relationships with peers and mentors alike, and to express themselves in the

context of a supportive and loving environment.

Westminster Woods offers both faith- and environmentally-based programs

that support the mission “to build meaningful relationships – with Christ, with

one another and with our communities through outstanding programs and

hospitality in a remarkable redwood setting of God’s creation”.

I have agreed to raise pledges in support of this amazing camp.  My goal is to

raise $__________ by September 27th. I invite you to make a donation on my

behalf, to help me reach my fundraising goal.  Any amount you can give is

great; I am just grateful for your support.  Donations are tax-deductible and

can be in the form of cash or check (payable to Westminster Woods).  Please

send or give your pledge directly to me, and I’ll turn in everything I’ve

gathered on the day of the Trek-a-Thon.

I will spend the next few weeks training, fundraising, and preparing for the

Trek-a-Thon.  As I continue in my preparations, I will keep you posted on
