A Great Opportunity to Work in Camping Ministry

Do something that you love to do this summer!
What do you love? For Westminster Woods’ summer staff, we seek those who desire to love God with every ounce of their being and desire to love others as Christ loves us. We seek those who love to laugh and have fun while strengthening life-long friendships. We seek those who delight in ministering to kids and meeting them where they are with love, whether it be a place of pain and doubt or a place of joy and faith. We seek those who love God’s creation and want to grow as responsible leaders who are essential for God’s transforming work. We seek those who love camping ministry and want to work together to transform The Woods so that it thrives far into the future.

A Summer at The Woods
Our seven-week employment period will give you an opportunity to minister to children and youth while living in the beautiful California Coastal Redwoods. With a focus on relational and outdoor ministry, Westminster Woods Summer Camp will give you experience working in small and large group settings with youth ages 7-18. Our summer staff consists of 70 college students living and working together for the purpose of Westminster Woods.
Our summer program is built around the idea that through building relationships with peers, responsible adults, youth groups, and our churches, we grow deeper in our understanding of and relationship with Jesus Christ. The strength of our program lies in the staff we hire and their willingness to show God’s love through their words and actions.
Camping Ministry calls for a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and interests. You will be hired in two positions for the summer: as a camp counselor you will have the chance to directly interact with a group of campers, helping them to grow in Christ; as a department member, you will work on a team in one of these areas:
- Archery
- Crafts
- Child Care
- First Aid
- Kitchen
- Lifeguard
- Challenge Course
