Volunteer Counseling is a great way to spend a few weeks of your summer!
The purpose of Westminster Woods is to guide persons to Jesus Christ and we are able to achieve this by helping our campers build their relationships with peers, youth leader, churches and you! .

As a Volunteer Counselor, you will be spending a week with campers; getting to know them, helping to teach them about God and making sure they are comfortable and safe. Your campers should be comfortable enough with you to be able to talk and share in a trusting and loving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate 10-15 minutes of daily quiet time with your cabin group
- Lead informal evening discussions covering the day's lessons and events.
- A willingness to spend 24 hours a day in ministry with the campers
- Rotate into afternoon area of responsibility with other counselors, as needed (crafts, recreation, housing supervision, etc.)
- Spend quality time with each camper at least once during the week
Volunteer Counselors must be at least 15 years of age and in active service in the life of the local church and community. Counseling at Wesminster Woods is a wonderful leadership development opportunity for qualified individuals and will equip you for more effective leadership in your church and community.
Training:
Before counselling, all counselors must attend one of our Westminster Woods counselor training events. Even if you have been a counselor here before, you will be required to attend training before you may counsel. This training will give you the skills you need to be an effective and loving counselor.

Thank you for prayerfully considering this ministry opportunity. We hope to see you this summer!
